Energy Efficiency Technician Apprenticeship ProgramMAGJC is proud to be partnered with the Asian American Civic Association, who will host the first community-based Energy Efficiency Technician Apprenticeship Program in the Boston area. This pilot program will start in June 2010! Applications are now being accepted. Read on for further details! The US Department of Labor, Division of Apprenticeship Training has supported the Mass. Green Jobs Coalition, in collaboration with Jonah DeCola of Clean and Smart LLC and the Asian American Civic Association (AACA), in our efforts to help address the need for a community based apprenticeship program. As a result of this collaboration, a new apprenticeship program for energy efficiency technicians has been developed. Beginning in June 2010, we are proud to announce that AACA, a SkillWorks grant recipient, will be the first pilot in the Boston area for this new apprenticeship program. However, this will become a National Apprenticeship program, and any qualifying organization will be able to sponsor this training in the future.

The Massachusetts Green Jobs Coalition is excited to share some details on its latest collaborative project, The Green Trade Association A 501(c)6 nonprofit trade association which will convene a nation-wide network and support system of contractors, employers, innovators and entrepreneurs committed to helping each other build a just and inclusive Green Economy. The Green Trade Association was incorporated on March 4th in the State of Delaware and tax status is pending. The prestigious Nixon Peabody law firm has graciously offered to provide pro bono legal services for the incorporation process. Founding Members are now establishing the groundwork for this new organization, and more details will soon be made available. The Green Anthem
